Rory Gallagher - Stage Struck (Blues/Hard Rock, 1980)

"This guitar's my best friend. It's not like BB King who's had a hundred Lucilles"

Due to Rory's expanding tour schedules and the demands from his fans for more of Rory live, "Stage Struck" was released as his third live album and was recorded whilst on his third world wide tour - promoting the "Top Priority" album . It is regarded as the definite live Rory record and to me it remains an astonishing proof of why he is so adored fanatically by fans worldwide. Heavy, sweat droppin' blues influenced rock and roll by the master himself pouring incredible freshness and energy. This album kept the intense bluesy hard rock sound and powerful guitar solos from start to finish and yet remained relatively underrated and un-mentioned by most, although Rory fans regard it as one of his best live records along with 1972's "Live in Europe" . Pay attention to the line-up as well because Gerry McAvoy's bass playing is incredibly solid and arousing as well. Any Rory Gallagher fan will love this, this is a must!
